Itinerary

DAY 01: HARIDWAR – BARKOT/KARSALI (205 KM: 7 TO 8 HRS/250 KM: 8 TO 9 HRS)

This morning arrival (Arrival Must Be Before 7/8am) at Haridwar & depart for Barkot, located on the foot of Yamunotri. On arrival at Barkot, check-in to your hotel/camp. Rest of the day is free to relax and store your energy for the Pahad (hiII) Yatra of Yamunotri the next day. Dinner and Overnight stay at Barkot.

 

DAY 02: BARKOT/KHARSALI – YAMUNOTRI (45 KM: 2 HRS + 5 KM START TREK/5 KM START TREK) – BARKOT/KHARSALI (5 KM START TREK + 45 KM: 2 HRS)

After breakfast/packed breakfast, depart at 5/6am for Hanumanchatti (40 Km), Janki Chatti (5 km). Here you will begin the First Pahad Yatra of Yamunotri (5 Km trek). You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). The trek passes through lush green valley, a profusion of conifers, rhododendrons, cacti and several species of Himalayan shrubs. 

Yamunotri (altitude 3,291 m), the western most shrine of the Char Dhams, is dominated by Banderpunch (6,361 m). Yamunotri is the source of the river Yamuna, the twin sister of Varna, the Lord of Death. Yamuna is also the daughter of Surya the Sun. The actual source of the river originates from Champasar Glacier 1 km a head of the shrine, at an altitude of 4,321 mts. On arrival by afternoon in Yamunotri take holy dip in Yamuna River and perform Pooja, and take the same route back to Barkot, check in at Hotel / Camp. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel in Barkot.

DAY 03: BARKOT/KHARSALI – UTTARKASHI (85 KM: 3 HRS/132 KM: 4 TO 5 HRS)

After breakfast check out from the Barkot hotel and drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival check in into the hotel. Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi and is famous for its historical monuments, Temples & Ashrams. Dinner and Overnight stay at Uttarkashi. 

DAY 04: UTTARKASHI – GANGOTRI (97 KM: 3 TO 4 HRS) – UTTARKASHI (97 KM: 3 TO 4 HRS)

Early After breakfast/packed breakfast and drive to Gangotri. Nestled in the magnificent Garhwal Himalayas, Gangotri is set at an altitude of 3048 mts. Upon arrival at Gangotri take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin Visit the Gangotri Temple. The 18th century’s temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga is located near a sacred stone where King Bhagirathi worshipped Lord Shiva. Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made of white granite. After performing Pooja Late afternoon drive back to Uttarkashi. Dinner & Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

DAY 05: UTTARKASHI – GUPTKASHI (203 KM / 7 TO 8 HRS)

After early morning breakfast check out from the hotel and drive for Guptkashi. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi town. Dinner and Overnight stay in Guptkashi hotel/Camps.

DAY 06: GUPTKASHI – SONPRAYAG – KEDARNATH (30 KM + 20 KM TREK)

Early morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. From where, you will start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. Trudging with you are pilgrims chanting “Jai Bholenath.” Sometimes the mist would envelop the mountains and slowly lift away, revealing a shiny blinding-white peak that threatens to rupture the skies. On arrival check in at Govt. Camps/Lodges. Dinner and Overnight at Govt. Camps/Lodges (only basic accommodation is available on sharing basis with only room basis, you can take meal directly). 

DAY 07: KEDARNATH – SONPRAYAG – GUPTKASHI (20 KM TREK + 30 KM DRIVE)

 

Early morning you get up before dawn and after taking bath you are at the temple by 4:45 am for the ‘Abhishek’ to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol. You can also prostrate with your head touching the deity etc. After darshan and puja you come out of the temple and return to the Govt. Camps / Lodges. Later you’ll start the return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicles wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking and you’ll drive to your hotel/Camps. Dinner and Overnight at Guptkashi. 

DAY 08: GUPTKASHI – JOSHIMATH – BADRINATH (200 KM: 7 TO 8 HRS)

 

This morning, you check out of the hotel and drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. After driving through some wonderful Ghat road you arrive at Badrinath (Must cross Govindghat before 5:30 pm). On arrival check into the hotel. After some rest and refreshments you are all set to go to Badrinath Temple for darshan in the evening. But first you have to go to Tapt Kund (Hot Spring), take bath and then go to the temple. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple of Shri Badrinath Ji is 15 meters in height, built in the form of a cone with a small cupola of a gilt bull and spire. Later back to hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 09: BADRINATH – JOSHIMATH – BIRAHI/RUDRAPRAYAG/SRINAGAR (92 KM: 3 HRS/165 KM: 5 TO 6 HRS/195 KM: 6 TO 7 HRS)

This morning, go for Badrinath darshan. After darshan return back to hotel, breakfast at hotel and proceed for Badrinath local sightseeing visit Mana Village and Bheem Pul. Afternoon driver back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag. Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town on the holy confluence of river Alaknanda and Mandakini. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Rudraprayag town. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 10: BIRAHI/RUDRAPRAYAG/SRINAGAR – RISHIKESH – HARIDWAR (230 KM: 7 TO 8 HRS/165 KM: 5 TO 6 HRS/135 KM: 4 TO 5 HRS)

Early morning, after breakfast, you drive downhill to Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. On reaching Rishikesh you’ll do the Rishikesh sightseeing visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Evening drive to Haridwar and drop in Haridwar Railway Station after 4pm.

COST EXCLUDES:

 

  1.       Air Fare / Train fare with taxes until specified in the Cost Inclusions.
  2.       COVID test costs, if required by the destination of your visit.
  3.       Vehicles quoted in the package will only cover Sightseeing / Places as mentioned in the itinerary and are not at Disposal, until specified. Extra usage of vehicles other than sightseeing mentioned in the Inclusion, will be charged extra.
  4.       Travel Insurance and Meals other than those not specified in the above “cost includes”.
  5.       Any expenses of Personal nature such as Mini bar items, Optional Tours, laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, joy ride (Toy Train), portage etc not forming the part of the given itinerary.
  6.       Entrance Fees & Guide charges, until not included in “Cost Includes”.
  7.       Any cost arising due to natural calamities such as landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), flight delays, on tour changes etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
  8.       Any increase in taxes or fuel price OR seasonal surcharges (due to festivals / events at the place of visit), leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. 
  9.       Any on-tour changes / last minute changes while on tour, will be charged extra. Applicable cancellations will be levied in case of last minute cancellations as per hotel policy.
  10.       5.00% Govt. Service Tax.
  11.       Anything which is not mentioned in Cost Inclusions.

The car offered in the tour is not at disposal, it will cover points as per the itinerary and for any deviation, the cost of extra Kms needs to be settled directly with the driver on tour itself.

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR YOUR INFORMATION DURING YOUR CHARDHAM TOUR :

 

MEALS – During your stay at Standard/Superior hotel the meals that would be provided at Hotels are on fixed menu basis. Breakfast would serve Tea/coffee, Parantha & curd, Poori Bhaji or similar. Dinner menu  – 01 Veg + 01 Dal + Roti, + Rice+ ACP+ Sweet (Please note there could be changes in menu depending availability of vegetables)

 

HOTELS – The hotels being provided in the itinerary are basic hotels in places like Barkot, Uttarkashi & Kedarnath. Since these hotels have very basic amenities you are advised not to expect facilities like hotels in metro cities. In most of the places there hours of power cutting, thus you are advised to bear the problem with us, however, hotels have power back up for limited usage only.

 

TRANSPORT – We would provide with good vehicles however, you are advised to keep patience as driver may not be able to drive fast due to hilly terrain, bad roads, traffic etc. The parking lots at Sonprayag, Phoolchatti are limited you are advised to set up the time & place with driver to pick you up on your return. Since we do not have good transport beyond Haridwar & Rishikesh, it may take some time to replace vehicle and you would have to travel on the alternate option provided by us. At times you may have to pay directly on the spot to hire a local vehicle in event of your transport vehicle breakdown. Pilgrim vehicles after 8 PM are not allowed to run as per the law of state government. In case clients gets delay due to whatsoever reason and cannot reach to the hotel booked for them, they would have to stay at the nearest destination and no refund would be allowed for unutilized services.

 

CONNECTIVITY – Mobile connectivity is rare along the whole drive. Though you may get connectivity at times during your travel. Thus you are advised to keep you driver informed of pick up timings & meeting places.

 

REGISTRATION – Registration of yatris is a must. Biometric could be done at Haridwar/Rishikesh and also at a number of places en-route. For Kedarnath one has to go to the government hospital at Guptkashi for Medical check up(OPTIONAL). Once the yatri is cleared after medical check a slip would be provided by the authorities which in turn has to be handed over to the police post at Gaurikund. In case yatri losses the slip the process has to be redone.

 

TRAVEL TIPS:
● Advance hotel Bookings are must.
● Carry snacks with you in case of long traffic jams/land slides.
● Carry Drinking Water, and medicines with you.
● Respect customs of locals.
● Carry Rain Coat / Umbrella, torch, minimum luggage with you.

  • Carry enough of winter clothing as it gets cold in Badrinath & Kedarnath.

 

IN CASE OF ANY SERIOUS MEDICAL EMERGENCY, CALL 108 (THE MOBILE EMERGENCY SERVICE FROM GOVERNMENT OF UTTARAKHAND). DON’T MAKE FAKE CALLS, AS IT IS PUNISHABLE OFFENCE. 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION: 

We have tried our best to provide all the information on Char Dham. 

However, we reserve the right to change the program as per the requirement of clients & availability of accommodation and other reasons.

The program is involving treacherous hill drives and clients have to be informed about the climatic conditions in Uttarakhand during yatra from extreme hot to extreme cold. Also during the yatra season due to heavy rush there are lot of traffic jams, diversions and restrictions put by the authorities. 

 

During yatra season the Traffic is allowed on the roads from 5 AM Till 8 PM and there after traffic is not allowed at all. In case passengers get delayed due to traffic congestion & landslide which is beyond our control may not be able to reach the hotel booked for them would have to bear the expenses of their stay for that night.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: 

  •  It is mandatory to carry a valid photo identity card (Passport / Driving Licence / Voter ID card).
  • For Infants Birth certificates is mandatory with an extra photo copy. For children please carry Passport/ Aadhar card/ School/College id card along with Birth Certificate & extra photo copy.
  • In case of delay / Cancelations / bouncing of flights /We request you to first Contact the Duty Manager at Airport and get your Ticket for next available flight / Refund notification if any.
  • In case of any political instability & instability due to bad climatic conditions, the guest will have to make their own arrangement for hotels/ transfers.
  • THE TRAVCO will not be responsible for any rescheduling of Flights & Hotel Accommodation for the any of above reasons. The guest will have to make payments on direct basis.
  • However, THE TRAVCO team is there to assist you at all times.
  • All sightseeing mentioned are subject to weather /traffic/ political conditions  in the mentioned destination. The management has supreme and full authority to alter the itinerary due to any of the mentioned conditions.
  • THE TRAVCO will not be responsible for any delay or cancellation of flights by airlines.
  • Please take care of your personal belongings such as mobile /camera/cash/ credit cards etc. THE TRAVCO will not be responsible for loss of items. 
  • In case guest has to extend their stay or vehicle due to bad weather conditions / political instability, etc they will have to make direct/additional payment for the same. THE TRAVCO team is there to assist you at all times.

Do carry sufficient heavy woolens clothes including sweaters, woolen thermal body warmers, trousers, monkey caps, mufflers and any other cold fighting apparel. Other items needed to be carried are wind sheeters, raincoats, sleeping bags, blankets, water proof shoes with sufficient grips, torch with sufficient batteries and walking sticks. Ladies are advised to avoid sarees. Instead body hugging clothing like Salwar Kamiz, pants, etc are advised.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited

Carry dry eatable stocks with you viz, biscuits, Sugar, Candies, Chocolates, milk powder, assorted dry fruits, honey, lemons and tinned foods and other items suiting your palates. Water bottle, spoons, tumblers, saucers and plates may also be carried. Don’t throw wrappers of chocolates etc. on road or in the forest trek during journey, better to use dustbins if possible otherwise keep it in your pocket and throw when you find dustbin.

Don’t overstrain on steep gradients.

Registered pony walla, porter, dandy man may only be hired. They are available for prefixed tariffs.

Don’t relax at place where warning signs are fixed.

Ponies carrying luggage and eatables should remain with you all the time. At no point of time should you get out of touch with them. This is to avoid inconvenience.

Don’t break traffic discipline.

Move slowly and steadily, as this is an arduous pilgrimage and maintain discipline.

Avoid carrying heavy Jewellery during journey.

Instructions of Yatra officer should be adhered to.

Don’t try to wash hands/ clothes/ bath in the rivers en-route your way.

Carry sufficient money to pay for your personal expenses.

Transfer & Tour Information

For all transfers and tours please wait at the Reception Counter before the scheduled pick-up time. DO NOT WAIT IN YOUR ROOM OR IN HOTEL’S COFFEE HOUSE/RESTURANT. Please be punctual as most hotels do not allow waiting in the driveway (for security reasons).

 CANCELLTION POLICY: 

Cancellation request has to be sent to us by e-mail only. 

30 Days or before prior to departure – Nil 

29 -20 Days prior to departure 20% of tour cost 

19- 08 Days prior to departure 50% of tour cost 

07 Days or No show 100% of tour cost 

Note: Cancelation policy is subject to amend as per policy of hotel booked for your stay. 

 

REFUND:- 

Refund will be paid to the source through which the guest is booked. Any refund will take at least 15 days to process & will be sent to you by a/c payee cheque only. 

 

** NO REFUND WILL BE MADE AGAINST ANY UN UTILIZED SERVICES, WHAT SO EVER MAY BE THE 

REASON**. 

 

PAYMENTS:-

 

On confirmation: 50% (advance) to be deposited at the time of booking confirmation. 

 

Re-confirmation:  50 (2nd installment) should be deposited 30 – 15 days before tour starts. 

 

Payment Mode: Payments can be remitted through any of the following mode and is subject to    realization:

  1. Demand Draft: In favor of “DTravco” payable at New Delhi
  2. At Par Cheque: Issue in the name of “DTravco”.
  3. Cheque Deposit in the following:

  1.       Standard Check in time for major Hotels is 1200hrs and Check out time is 1100hrs. And the rooms quoted unless specified are all based on Standard category Rooms by default and until it is specified in the above “cost includes”.
  2.       If at all the given hotel is not available then a hotel at par will be offered.
  3.       The above quote is based on as of date pricing. Any increase in the airfare / hotel cost due to seasonality, tax change, availability on the date of confirmation – will be duly charged. 
  4.       For the confirmation of tour package, we would require a minimum deposit of 30% of the total tour cost quoted to you, balance to be settled at least 15 Days prior to your departure, thereafter the clearance of payments – accordingly the confirmation vouchers will be handed over to you upon receiving 100% payments.
  5.       Prices are valid for the stated travel period and are of defined validity, any change in the dates or number of passengers will lead to re-costing.
