Itinerary

Day : 01 Arrive Ahmedabad

 

Welcome to “The Colors of Gujarat” tour! On arrival at the Ahmedabad airport or Ahmedabad railway station (on your own), you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will proceed on a half day city tour of Ahmedabad visiting Gandhi Ashram, Calico Museum, Utensils Museum, the Jami Mosque and finally Akshardham which is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan.

Day : 02 In Ahmedabad * Day excursion to Modhera Sun Temple & Patan

This morning proceed on an excursion to the Sun Temple at Modhera that dates back to the early 11th century. This temple has been designed in such a way that the Sun’s rays illuminate the sanctum at dawn, during the time of the equinoxes. En route visit Patan that has over 100 Jain temples; the most important being the Mahavir Swami Derasar in Dhandherwad with an exquisitely carved wooden dome and the other being the Rani ki Vav, an excellent example of subterranean architecture of Gujarat.

Day : 03 On to Bhavnagar (235 kms/approx. 6 hrs drive)

This morning, you will drive to Bhavnagar via Lothal (87 Kms + 145 Kms) visiting the Lothal Harappan archeological site. On arrival in Bhavnagar, you will check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the local Bazaar.

Day : 04 In Bhavnagar * Excursion to Palithana (60 kms / approx. 1 hr drive)

This morning you will visit the temples of Palitana located a top Shatrunjaya and crowned with over 900 temples, each rivaling the other for its beauty and magnificence and presenting an awe-inspiring spectacle to devotees and visitors. The peak is a 3 ½ km climb of over 3500 steps from the town, while on each temple one can see detailed carvings, beautiful idols and images, jeweled statues and intricate toranas. The sunrise from behind the temples is a great sight.

Day: 05 On to Sasangir (300 kms / approx. 7 hrs drive)

This morning proceed to Sasangir, home to the Asiatic Lion. On arrival check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the facilities within the hotel.

Day: 06 In Sasangir

Today, you will visit the Gir sanctuary – 11,412 sq km, a hilly tract of mixed dry deciduous and teak forests interspersed with grasslands and home to the Asiatic Lion. One can also spot leopards and other animals like the Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Nhausingha, Grey Langur, Hyena and birds like the painted Sand grouse, peacocks and paradise fly catchers. The Kamleshwar dam reservoir is habitat to the crocodiles. (The park is closed between 15th June – 15th October).

Day: 07 On to Diu (130 kms/ approx. 3 hrs drive)

 

Today your journey takes you to the beach town of Diu. Check into your hotel on arrival. The day is at leisure to laze and relax on the beach.

Day: 08 In Diu

 

The morning is at leisure to enjoy the Nagoya beach located in the Nagoya hamlet. The horseshoe beach is exceptionally beautiful and quiet and a wide variety of water sports facilities are available here (water sport activities on direct payment). Later, you will proceed on a city tour visiting St. Paul’s Church, Diu Museum and the Diu Fort.

Day : 09 Depart Diu * Return home with happy memories

 

Today bid farewell to “The Colors of Gujarat” tour, as you are transferred to the railway station in Veraval (approx. 90 kms drive), to continue your onward journey.

COST INCLUDES :

COST EXCLUDES:

 

  1.       Air Fare / Train fare with taxes until specified in the Cost Inclusions.
  2.       COVID test costs, if required by the destination of your visit.
  3.       Vehicles quoted in the package will only cover Sightseeing / Places as mentioned in the itinerary and are not at Disposal, until specified. Extra usage of vehicles other than sightseeing mentioned in the Inclusion, will be charged extra.
  4.       Travel Insurance and Meals other than those not specified in the above “cost includes”.
  5.       Any expenses of Personal nature such as Mini bar items, Optional Tours, laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, joy ride (Toy Train), portage etc not forming the part of the given itinerary.
  6.       Entrance Fees & Guide charges, until not included in “Cost Includes”.
  7.       Any cost arising due to natural calamities such as landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), flight delays, on tour changes etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
  8.       Any increase in taxes or fuel price OR seasonal surcharges (due to festivals / events at the place of visit), leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. 
  9.       Any on-tour changes / last minute changes while on tour, will be charged extra. Applicable cancellations will be levied in case of last minute cancellations as per hotel policy.
  10.       5.00% Govt. Service Tax.
  11.       Anything which is not mentioned in Cost Inclusions.

Quote does not mean confirmation of the booking. A line of confirmation is required to enable us to hold the booking after due advances are made. The car offered in the tour is not at disposal, it will cover points as per the itinerary and for any deviation, the cost of extra Kms needs to be settled directly with the driver on tour itself.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES :

 

  1.       Standard Check in time for major Hotels is 1200hrs and Check out time is 1100hrs. And the rooms quoted unless specified are all based on Standard category Rooms by default and until it is specified in the above “cost includes”.
  2.       If at all the given hotel is not available then a hotel at par will be offered.
  3.       The above quote is based on as of date pricing. Any increase in the airfare / hotel cost due to seasonality, tax change, availability on the date of confirmation – will be duly charged. 
  4.       For the confirmation of tour package, we would require a minimum deposit of 30% of the total tour cost quoted to you, balance to be settled at least 15 Days prior to your departure, thereafter the clearance of payments – accordingly the confirmation vouchers will be handed over to you upon receiving 100% payments.
  5.       Prices are valid for the stated travel period and are of defined validity, any change in the dates or number of passengers will lead to re-costing.
