Bhutan is also called “The land of Thunder Dragon” because of the violent and large thunderstorms that whip down through the valleys from the Himalayas. Bhutan, nestled in the Eastern Himalayas between China and India, the small Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan opened itself to the world only in 1960s. It had been largely mysterious even to its neighbour’s but abandoning its self-imposed policy of isolation had it grappling to find a precarious balance between modernization and the preservation of its culture and traditions. However, it does seem that Bhutan has found the perfect balance between the two and now though it is making tremendous developments in all sectors, it also manages to hold onto its unique identity that makes it unlike any other country in the world with a population of just over 8 lakhs. So, let’s explore the beauty of this wonderful “Land of Dragon” where paradise resides.

Itinerary

DAY 01: BAGDOGRA AIRPORT (IXB) OR NEW JALPAIGURI RLY. STATION (NJP)– PHUENTSHOLING

ON ARRIVAL MEET WITH OUR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE OR DRIVER OR GUIDE AT BAGDOGRA AIRPORT OR NJP (NEW JALPAIGURI RLY. STATIONAND TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING – THE GATEWAY OF BHUTAN BY ROAD FROM INDIA. IT IS A THRIVING COMMERCIAL CENTER ON THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE INDIAN PLAINS. ON ARRIVAL CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL. OVERNIGHT STAY AT PHUENTSHOLING.

DAY 02: PHUENTSHOLING – THIMPHU

AFTER BREAKFAST COMPLETE THE IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES AND TRANSFER TO THIMPHU (7,710 FT.) THE CAPITAL CITY OF BHUTAN. ON ARRIVAL CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL. IN THE EVENING, VISIT THE TASHICHHO DZONG (FORTRESS OF THE GLORIOUS RELIGION). OVERNIGHT STAY AT THIMPHU.

DAY 03: THIMPHU CITY TOUR

AFTER BREAKFAST CHECK OUT OF YOUR HOTEL AND VISIT KUENSEL PHODRANG (BUDDHA STATUE) A PLACE FOR REFRESHING WITH A HUGE STATUE OF BUDDHA ON THE TOP OF THE KUENSEL PHODRANG, NATIONAL MEMORIAL CHORTEN (MONUMENT) & FOLK HERITAGE MUSEUM. AFTERNOON VISIT SANGAYGANG VIEW POINT, CHANGANGKHA MONASTERY, TAKIN PRESERVE CENTRE, THE TAKIN NATIONAL ANIMAL OF BHUTAN CAN BE SEEN HERE. OVERNIGHT STAY AT THIMPU.

DAY 04: THIMPU – PARO

 

AFTER BREAKFAST TRANSFER TO PARO. ON THE WAY VISIT THE TAMCHOG LHAKHANG – IT IS SITUATED BETWEEN THIMPHU AND PARO AND IT WAS BUILT IN THE 13TH CENTURY BY THANGTHONG GYALPO. HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE IRON BRIDGE BUILDER. SITUATED ON A HILL TOP, WE HAVE TO CROSS AN ANCIENT STYLE BRIDGE TO REACH THE TEMPLE. ON ARRIVAL IN PARO, CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL. AFTERNOON VISIT PARO LOCAL MARKET BY WALKING ENJOY EVENING IN LEISURE. OVERNIGHT STAY AT PARO.

DAY 05: PARO CITY TOUR

AFTER BREAKFAST VISIT DRUKGYEL DZONG. ALSO VISIT FAMOUS TAKTSANG MONASTERY – ALSO CALLED AS “ TIGER’S NEST” (IT IS 2HRS AS MODERATE HIKING FROM THE BASE CAMP) & THEN VISIT KYICHU MONASTERY. OVERNIGHT STAY WILL BE AT PARO.

DAY 06: PARO – PHUENTSHOLING

AFTER BREAKFAST CHECK OUT FROM HOTEL AND TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING. ON ARRIVAL CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL. OVERNIGHT STAY AT PHUENTSHOLING.

DAY 07: PHUENTSHOLING – BAGDOGRA AIRPORT (IXB) OR NEW JALPAIGURI RLY. STATION (NJP)

AFTER BREAKFAST CHECK OUT FROM THE HOTEL AND TAKE THE DEPARTURE TRANSFER TO BAGDOGRA AIRPORT OR NJP (NEW JALPAIGURI RLY.STATION FOR YOUR ONWARD JOURNEY.

Inclusions/Exclusions

COST INCLUDES :

  1.       Breakfast at all places and Meals as per described on the Itinerary
  2.       Accommodation on Twin Sharing basis at the Hotels mentioned or Similar
  3.       Sightseeing as per Itinerary.
  4.       All Currently applicable taxes.

 

COST EXCLUDES:

 

  1.       Air Fare / Train fare with taxes until specified in the Cost Inclusions.
  2.       COVID test costs, if required by the destination of your visit.
  3.       Vehicles quoted in the package will only cover Sightseeing / Places as mentioned in the itinerary and are not at Disposal, until specified. Extra usage of vehicles other than sightseeing mentioned in the Inclusion, will be charged extra.
  4.       Travel Insurance and Meals other than those not specified in the above “cost includes”.
  5.       Any expenses of Personal nature such as Mini bar items, Optional Tours, laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, joy ride (Toy Train), portage etc not forming the part of the given itinerary.
  6.       Entrance Fees & Guide charges, until not included in “Cost Includes”.
  7.       Any cost arising due to natural calamities such as landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), flight delays, on tour changes etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
  8.       Any increase in taxes or fuel price OR seasonal surcharges (due to festivals / events at the place of visit), leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. 
  9.       Any on-tour changes / last minute changes while on tour, will be charged extra. Applicable cancellations will be levied in case of last minute cancellations as per hotel policy.
  10.       5.00% Govt. Service Tax.
  11.       Anything which is not mentioned in Cost Inclusions.

Quote does not mean confirmation of the booking. A line of confirmation is required to enable us to hold the booking after due advances are made. The car offered in the tour is not at disposal, it will cover points as per the itinerary and for any deviation, the cost of extra Kms needs to be settled directly with the driver on tour itself.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES :

 

  1.       Standard Check in time for major Hotels is 1200hrs and Check out time is 1100hrs. And the rooms quoted unless specified are all based on Standard category Rooms by default and until it is specified in the above “cost includes”.
  2.       If at all the given hotel is not available then a hotel at par will be offered.
  3.       The above quote is based on as of date pricing. Any increase in the airfare / hotel cost due to seasonality, tax change, availability on the date of confirmation – will be duly charged. 
  4.       For the confirmation of tour package, we would require a minimum deposit of 30% of the total tour cost quoted to you, balance to be settled at least 15 Days prior to your departure, thereafter the clearance of payments – accordingly the confirmation vouchers will be handed over to you upon receiving 100% payments.
  5.       Prices are valid for the stated travel period and are of defined validity, any change in the dates or number of passengers will lead to re-costing.
