The best time to visit Ladakh is July and August each year, Ladakh is open for tourists from April 15 to October 15, although Leh is open all year, most hotels in Leh is closed from October 16 to April 14 every year, along with Pangong and Nubra due to extreme winter weather. During winter, all of Ladakh faces extreme cold conditions where minimum temperatures drop below freezing point at minus 23 degrees Celsius.

 

Itinerary

Day 01: Manali Arrival & Sightseeing

Arrival at Manali bus rack around 7 am, DTravco representative will meet you at the Volvo Stand and also assist you in getting transferred to the resort on your Manali Ladakh Tour Package. Check-in and freshen up. Afterwards, go on a half-day excursion and explore Manali. Visiting the Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht for its hot sulphur springs, Tibetan Monastery and the Club House at which you can indulge in some fantastic activities such as skating, swings, etc. The evening is at leisure. Overnight in Manali.

Day 02: Manali - Sarchu (225Kms-7.5hrs)

Following morning breakfast leave for Sarchu, your onwards journey into the unknown & for the surprises the day had. It could be a real test of a challenge and strength. Proceed through Rohtang Pass (13050 ft), Lahaul Valley, Tandi, Keylong, Jispa. Lunch Break is currently at Darcha. After Lunch drive to Sarchu Pass through Baralacha Pass (16020 ft). Overnight stay at the Camp at Sarchu

Day 03: Sarchu - Leh (255Kms-8hrs)

Leave for Leh by early morning, via Nakeela and Lachangla Pass 16, 617 ft. Lunch at Pang. Following the Lunch drive to Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang, Tanglang La Pass 17, 585ft and Indus Valley. Arrive at Leh. Overnight stay at the Hotel / Resort at Leh.

Day 04: Leh - Nubra Valley (160kms-4.5hrs)

Following an early breakfast, we drive to NUBRA VALLEY, through KHARDUNG-LA the greatest motorable road in the world at 18, 390 ft, around 39kms from Leh. Nubra Valley is commonly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers and located between North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh range of Himalayas. At the mid-day visit Hunder Monastery at Hunder village. Hunder is lying close to the boundary between India and Pakistan from the northwestern part of Ladakh. You can visit the sand dunes and enjoy a camel safari (Optional on direct payment basis). Today your stay would be at Nubra.

Day 05: Nubra Valley - Leh (160kms-5hrs)

After breakfast in the camp, then visit Diskit Monastery en route to Leh. There are several shrines inside the monastery’s complex, like Kangyu-lang, Tsangyu-lang, etc. Diskit Gompa has rather an intriguing legend attached to it. It’s believed that a Mongolian demon once lived here and was considered a sworn enemy of Buddhism. Afternoon rest and unwind or take a stroll to the local market. Today your stay would be at Leh.

Day 06: Leh - Pangong Lake via Shey & Thiksey (225kms-6.6hrs)

Relish your early morning breakfast, depart for the mesmeric Pangong Tso en route visiting Shey & Thiksey. The Palace and Monastery of Shey, an impressive complex on a hill, was built on the orders of King Deldan Namgyal at 1655 AD. It houses among the largest gold Buddha sculptures in the nation. Following the visit, continue towards Pangong, passing through Changla pass, which is about 5360 meters over sea level. Pangong Lake, located at 4267 metres over sea level, is famous for its serenity. Pangong Lake is a long and narrow basin of the maximum salt water Lake in the world, shared by two nations India & China. Although open to tourists, the lake and its surrounding area beneath military surveillance. Evening at leisure. After dinner, overnight stay near Pangong Lake.

Day 07: Pangong Lake – Leh via Hemis (225kms-6.5hrs)

Post breakfast, you’re free to explore and catch the beauty of the lake in your cameras. Drive back to Leh, en-route visiting Hemis Gompa – the biggest monastic foundation of the Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. As soon as you reach Leh, check-in at the resort and take some rest. After dinner, retreat to the hotel room.

Day 08: Leh - Alchi (160kms-5hrs)

Following breakfast, today we’ll drive towards Kargil road and start your sightseeing with Hall of Fame near Leh, this tradition is constructed from the Indian military. Next visit Spituk Gompa. A 3 chapel monastery, Spituk is situated at a distance of about 8 kilometres from the city of Leh. Later visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib – nestled in the Himalayas, was assembled from the Lamas of Leh to memorialize the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. Another 4 km drive takes us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It’s been discovered that whenever there is a car parked on impartial equipment on this metallic road the vehicle slides up further. Driving through a landscape we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, 4 kilometres before Nimmu village. Return to the hotel, dinner and stay overnight at the Hotel in Alchi.

Day 09: Alchi - Lamayuru - Kargil (225kms-7hrs)

After relishing morning after breakfast proceeds towards Kargil. Enroute visit Lamayuru, the earliest Monastery of Ladakh and Moon Landscape, Enjoy spectacular views of Namikila & Fatula the highest passes on the Leh – Srinagar road. Besides visit Mulbek, Giant Living Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain. Reach Kargil resort, dinner and stay overnight at the Hotel.

Day 10: Kargil - Sonamarg - Srinagar (220kms-6hrs)

After breakfast proceeds to Srinagar, Enroute visits Drass Village, Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Kargil war Famous Peaks drive through the Zojila pass, from where one can see the panoramic view of Sonmarg. Further, proceed to Sonamarg, Reach Srinagar through the evening. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Srinagar.

Day 11: Srinagar Sightseeing

After breakfast depart to explore the Dal lake on a shikara ride, canals, floating gardens, veggies gardens, water fountains, lotus flowers, easily mobile vendors, floating handicraft centre lifestyle inside the lake since decades. Later visit famous Mughal Gardens Cheshma Shahi, Nishat, Shalimar gardens laid out in the 16th century & these fall along the bank of Dal-lake in the heart of Srinagar city & Shankaracharya Temple on the hillock, thus providing a panoramic view of the entire city, along with famous Dal-lake & river Jehlum. After a break, treat yourselves by indulging in some shopping at the bustling Lal Chowk. You can purchase locally created products, such as embroidered mats, leather goods and carpets, antique jewellery and the highly demanded Pashmina/Shahtoosh shawls. Later back to the Houseboat / Hotel Followed by a hearty dinner, enjoy a pleasurable overnight stay.

Day 12: Srinagar Departure.

After having the delicious morning breakfast at Srinagar the queen of Valley, pack your baggage’s with a promise to return once again to this paradise… Proceed on time to board your flight/train with sweet memories of your holidays. We await for your next visit … Bon Voyage. Service ends

COST EXCLUDES:

 

  1.       Air Fare / Train fare with taxes until specified in the Cost Inclusions.
  2.       COVID test costs, if required by the destination of your visit.
  3.       Vehicles quoted in the package will only cover Sightseeing / Places as mentioned in the itinerary and are not at Disposal, until specified. Extra usage of vehicles other than sightseeing mentioned in the Inclusion, will be charged extra.
  4.       Travel Insurance and Meals other than those not specified in the above “cost includes”.
  5.       Any expenses of Personal nature such as Mini bar items, Optional Tours, laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, joy ride (Toy Train), portage etc not forming the part of the given itinerary.
  6.       Entrance Fees & Guide charges, until not included in “Cost Includes”.
  7.       Any cost arising due to natural calamities such as landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), flight delays, on tour changes etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
  8.       Any increase in taxes or fuel price OR seasonal surcharges (due to festivals / events at the place of visit), leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. 
  9.       Any on-tour changes / last minute changes while on tour, will be charged extra. Applicable cancellations will be levied in case of last minute cancellations as per hotel policy.
  10.       5.00% Govt. Service Tax.
  11.       Anything which is not mentioned in Cost Inclusions.

The car offered in the tour is not at disposal, it will cover points as per the itinerary and for any deviation, the cost of extra Kms needs to be settled directly with the driver on tour itself.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES :

 

  1.       Standard Check in time for major Hotels is 1200hrs and Check out time is 1100hrs. And the rooms quoted unless specified are all based on Standard category Rooms by default and until it is specified in the above “cost includes”.
  2.       If at all the given hotel is not available then a hotel at par will be offered.
  3.       The above quote is based on as of date pricing. Any increase in the airfare / hotel cost due to seasonality, tax change, availability on the date of confirmation – will be duly charged. 
  4.       For the confirmation of tour package, we would require a minimum deposit of 30% of the total tour cost quoted to you, balance to be settled at least 15 Days prior to your departure, thereafter the clearance of payments – accordingly the confirmation vouchers will be handed over to you upon receiving 100% payments.
  5.       Prices are valid for the stated travel period and are of defined validity, any change in the dates or number of passengers will lead to re-costing.
